Located opposite King George Square and City Hall, it is ideally situated in the heart of Brisbane CBD, featuring some of the largest conference spaces in Brisbane, incorporating 2 ballrooms. The hotel also boasts Goldfinch Restaurant and Street Cafe, Sixteen Antlers Rooftop Bar, KG Bar, and an Executive Lounge.


Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum


Job Description


We are seeking a passionate Culinary Expert to join our professional Kitchen team in Brisbane. If you are eager to sharpen your culinary skills in a dynamic kitchen, this is the ideal opportunity for you.


To be successful in this role, you should have:



  • Fully prepare food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions, and buffet service.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment while ensuring high-quality products and presentation standards.
  • Prepare and ensure availability of mis en place as required.
  • E nsure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage by implementing and maintaining stock control procedures.
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy, ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced, and cleaned. Report any problems to the Executive Chef.
  • Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair within specified cost margins.
  • Check that all food is stored and handled correctly according to current food health and hygiene regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications


We require a Trade qualification in Cookery and experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment. You should be detail-focused with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality food under pressure.


You will need to be energetic and proactive, with enthusiasm to develop your culinary expertise. A team player who easily builds rapport with colleagues and guests alike is essential. Time management skills with the ability to multitask are also required. Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of team members, are necessary.
