This is a mid-to-senior level role that offers an opportunity to take on significant responsibilities in business analysis and financial leadership. As the new Manager - Finance and Business Analysis, you will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and leading the Management Accounting & Business Partnering Team.
Your key objectives will include coordinating and developing the annual budget and quarterly forecast, building meaningful management reporting for use by the Executive and Operational Leads, and enhancing business engagement to ensure budget accountability. You will be working closely with various stakeholders across the organisation to drive financial performance and achieve strategic objectives.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilise your analytical and technical skills to provide high-quality financial information and insights to support business decision-making. You will also be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of professionals to deliver exceptional results and improve the overall financial capability of the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Reporting: Prepare monthly reports for executives and operational leaders to analyse performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting key risks, issues, and opportunities to aid high-level decision making based on financial and commercial analysis.
- Financial Analysis and Modelling: Undertake detailed analysis of key costs and business drivers to support decision making, recommending solutions, and supporting the implementation of improvement initiatives, including assessing and developing activity-based costing and reporting.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Enhance budget and forecasting models and support the financial aspects of business case development for new business models, tenders, funding applications, and cost/benefit analysis to improve efficiency and sustainability of the organisation.
- Leadership and Development: Provide direction, guidance, and support to your team and other staff within the organisation to ensure continued development of the financial capability across the organisation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Finance or Accounting: A degree qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field is essential for this role.
- Professional Accounting Membership: Professional accounting membership (CA, CPA, CIMA, or similar) is required.
- Analytical and Technical Skills: High-level proficiency with Excel, modelling, and business intelligence tools is necessary to perform the duties of this role.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate (written and verbal) technical knowledge effectively is critical for success in this position.
- Experience and Leadership: Significant experience in management accounting, activity-based costing, and business analysis, as well as demonstrated experience in building and leading successful teams and delivering results on time and accurately, is highly desirable.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: A flexible, proactive, and self-starter attitude, along with the ability to work to deadlines, a passion for driving best practice, and streamlining processes, is essential for this role.
