
Community Meal Services Cook

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to provide high-quality meal services in over 55s communities across Victoria.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing home-style meals in a community setting and is flexible and willing to travel.
The RoleYou will step in to cover planned and unplanned leave for our regular cooks. You'll prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and ensure residents enjoy a positive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities- Meal Preparation: Prepare, cook, and serve meals in line with community menus and dietary requirements.
- Presentation and Timeliness: Ensure all meals are well-presented, nutritious, and delivered on time.
- Waste Reduction: Reduce waste and manage stock efficiently.
- Food Safety: Monitor and record food temperatures and follow food safety procedures.
- Cleaning and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area.
- Equipment Sanitization: Sanitize all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils.
- Cleanliness and PPE: Safely handle and store cleaning products using correct PPE.
- HACCP Compliance: Follow HACCP guidelines and comply with food safety legislation.
- Whistleblowing: Report any incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Resident Interaction: Interact respectfully and empathetically with residents.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with community staff to ensure smooth meal service.
- Professional Boundaries: Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident confidentiality.

- Certifications: Food Safety Supervisor Accreditation (or willingness to obtain), National Police Check (current and valid).
- Licenses: C-Class Driver's Licence and own vehicle.
- Certificates: First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge: Knowledge of HACCP and safe food handling practices.
