Job Details

This role is a challenging opportunity for an experienced nurse to provide primary care to patients in a correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary Care Provision: Provide patient-centred healthcare services, allowing inmates to participate actively in their health management.
  • Collaboration with Correctional Staff: Work closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated health services that promote rehabilitation and reintegration, ensuring the safety and security of inmates and maintaining high standards of practice.
  • Patient Health Planning: Create, implement, and manage patient health plans to support medical management and healthcare delivery for custodial patients.
Requirements:
  • Nursing Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 2-year full-time post-graduate experience or part-time equivalent.
  • Specialized Nursing Experience: Experience in primary health, rural health, or emergency nursing is desirable.
