Our organization is seeking a qualified Mental Health Worker or Peer Worker to support individuals with mental health challenges.

 

We provide person-centred support through goal setting, recovery planning, and emotional encouragement. This role involves helping clients access various services, including healthcare, housing, and community supports.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized support through goal setting and recovery planning.
  • Facilitate access to essential services for clients.
  • Support clients during crisis situations using calm and flexible care approaches.
  • Maintain accurate client records using electronic systems.
  • Nurture strong relationships with clients, families, carers, and service providers.
  • Promote a culturally safe and inclusive service environment.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health or equivalent for Mental Health Workers.
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work and lived experience of mental health recovery for Peer Workers.
  • Empathy, resilience, and commitment to supporting others.
  • Ability to build trust and connection with individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Flexibility to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
