Job Opportunity:
Key Responsibilities
As a clinical nurse specialist in sexual health, you will provide high-quality patient care and expert guidance to less experienced nursing staff. Your primary focus will be on preventing and managing sexually transmitted infections and blood-borne viruses in the Darwin region through client services, clinical education, and service capacity building.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
1. Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligibility for same.
2. Highly developed clinical knowledge and skills in relevant areas of nursing/midwifery supporting well-developed clinical decision-making and problem-solving for best practice outcomes.
3. Demonstrated ability to promote a learning environment through clinical support, instruction, and feedback, including mentoring students, graduates, and less experienced staff.
4. Experience contributing to policy development and implementation, interpreting professional precedents and organisational policies, and supporting change management.
5. Effective communication skills to influence and convince staff and/or clients on sensitive matters requiring tact and diplomacy.
6. Well-developed knowledge and understanding of social and cultural issues influencing healthcare provision for clients and families.
