Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Clinical Specialist to join our Sexual Health team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality clinical care and support to clients with complex presentations.

The successful candidate will have strong clinical knowledge and skills in sexual health nursing, as well as experience in mentoring and guiding less experienced staff. You will work collaboratively with the team to provide specialist services, including public health nursing expertise, client education, and service capacity building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced clinical knowledge and skills in therapeutic relationships with individuals, families, groups, and communities.
  • Provide expert advice and assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and coordination of comprehensive client care and case management.
  • Accountable for ensuring high-quality, safe services and workplaces through adherence to defined service quality standards and work health and safety policies.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated highly developed clinical knowledge and skills in relevant area of nursing/midwifery.
  • Experience contributing to the development and implementation of local/regional policy.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice relevant to specialty area.
  • Effective communication skills to influence and convince staff and/or clients.
  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of social and cultural issues influencing healthcare provision.

Public Health Services:

  • Provide specialist services, including public health nursing expertise, client education, and service capacity building.

This role has a focus on specialized sexual health clinical services for people living with HIV/AIDS but may include sexual health services for people who put others at risk of infection (POAR) clients, outreach services, The Syphilis Register Information System (SRIS), and other public health duties as required.

As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively to achieve best practice outcomes for healthcare consumers and contribute to the development and implementation of local/regional policy.
