Job Summary:

The role of Support Specialist involves working closely with teachers across various year levels and curriculum areas to support the delivery of educational programs that cater to students' needs and align with the college's strategic priorities.

As a key member of the teaching team, you will assist in implementing agreed-upon programs and strategies that promote positive learning outcomes for all students.

The successful applicant should possess a positive attitude, be able to anticipate and adapt to change, show initiative, and flexibility to produce the best opportunities for students.

You will use your strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills to offer individual and small group support, helping students reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement educational programs and strategies that meet student needs and align with the college's strategic priorities.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students, promoting academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver effective education programs and provide feedback.
  • Support students with special needs, including those requiring occupational and physiotherapy programs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.

Requirements:

  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with relevant work rights.
  • A valid Working With Children Check and consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
  • Ability to obtain a current Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education's Screening Unit.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, including ability to interact with students, parents, and teaching professionals.
