Job Title: Advocate for Children and Young PeopleAbout The Role

The Advocate is responsible for providing strategic leadership to improve the safety, welfare, and well-being of children and young people in NSW. This involves monitoring, understanding, and advocating for their issues, as well as creating holistic and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Office for Youth.
  • Monitor and understand the issues affecting children and young people in NSW.
  • Work with stakeholders to create solutions that benefit children and young people.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience, including knowledge of child rights and legislation.
  • Well-developed understanding of global principles, policies, and trends related to children and young people.
  • Working knowledge of NSW Machinery of Government.
  • Demonstrated ability to use oversight and investigatory powers.
  • Experience as an executive leader, including strategic planning skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
