Financial Accountant Role

McCosker Contracting is a leading provider of civil construction services in the industry.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our accounting team at our Head Office in Queensland. The successful candidate will assist with financial and project accounting, as well as providing support for payroll and accounts payable functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the accounting team with transactional accounting activities
  • Ensure general ledger and sub ledgers are complete and accurate
  • Provide additional support for payroll and accounts payable functions

To be successful, you will have:

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in commerce, finance, or business (desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts, payroll, or accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and associated practices
  • Experience in managing and applying finance, accounts and/or payroll processes
Skills and Abilities:
  • Critical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Use of confidentiality and discretion when dealing with people
  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Self-motivated in task completion
