About the Role

The Clinical Coordinator for Anaesthetic/PACU services will provide day-to-day operational direction for the service, ensuring efficient and effective coordination for optimal operating theatre efficiency. The successful candidate will work with all staff and anaesthetists to provide services in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational direction for the Anaesthetic/PACU service
  • Coordinate services to ensure optimal operating theatre efficiency
  • Work with staff and anaesthetists to provide services in a timely and safe manner
  • Provide hands-on nursing care when required
  • Coach, mentor, supervise, and provide preceptorship to staff
  • Develop and implement quality and performance improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relative field of speciality or working towards
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in perioperative services
  • Extensive clinical skills and experience working in a perioperative suite with 10 or more theatres undertaking complex surgical procedures
  • Passion for quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • High level of planning and organising skills
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded
