Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Housing/Shelter Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clients, shelter users, and community contacts to provide supportive services and promote independent living.

The Housing/Shelter Support Worker will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized support plans, conducting one-on-one counselling sessions, and providing basic life skills training. They will also assist with daily tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and meal distribution.

In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in a related human/social service field
  • A minimum of one (1) year recent related experience
  • Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Training in or knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach
