Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist or Research Fellow to join our team at the University of Adelaide.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term position for 2 years, with an estimated annual salary of $95,053 - $105,611 plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation. The successful applicant will work on two separate but related projects focusing on Earth observation to measure vegetation responses to global change.

The role involves conducting independent research in remote sensing of vegetation, leading research teams, and overseeing postgraduate and honours students where applicable. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate across disciplines are essential.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with investigators at TERN and James Cook University, and participate in fieldwork throughout the project.

About You
  • A PhD in a relevant discipline and extensive research experience in remote sensing and vegetation ecology.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of remote sensing, statistics/machine learning, and programming analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead research teams and oversee postgraduate and honours students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across disciplines.
  • High level organisational skills, including prioritising and managing workload within a busy environment.
  • Track record of quality publications relative to opportunity.
