Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team in Adelaide.

This role involves providing support to the Contracts Manager in the administration of assigned contracts in accordance with General Dynamics Land Systems policies, procedures and specific contract requirements.

The successful candidate will also act as the empowered official, delegated jointly by the Managing Director and the GDLS Global Trade Compliance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering contracts as delegated by the Contracts Manager.
  • Establishing, maintaining and amending assigned contracts and agreements in accordance with corporate requirements.
  • Preparing and coordinating Contract Change Proposals (CCPs) and Proposals ready for authorisation in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Performing contract authorisation within delegated authority.
  • Participating in the development and negotiation of contract and sub-contract agreements.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of Contract based data deliverables to the customer in accordance with contract schedules.
  • Ensuring compliance of applicable Australian import/export trade regulations as well as those of the countries with which we interact.
  • Overseeing the implementation of licensing requirements and acting as the empowered official authorised to sign trade compliance applications and documents on behalf of our organisation.
  • Interpreting and explaining licensing requirements and regulations and assisting in resolving issues.
  • Developing and submitting export permits to Defence Exports.

To be successful for this role, applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian government security clearance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Law, etc or other applicable studies.
  • Demonstrated background and competencies in applying contract management practice.
  • Basic knowledge of Trade Compliance Regulations and Principles and an understanding of Defence Export Controls (DEC) framework is desirable.
  • Ability to prepare and present analysis/presentations to Leadership and Commonwealth.
  • A good knowledge of contracting principles is desirable.
