Optometric Practice Leadership Opportunity

This is a part-time role that will be based at our Geelong, Waurn Ponds Campus with hybrid work arrangements. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other teaching teams in the Optometry program to develop effective unit curricula and learning materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of the optometric practice and business management unit.
  • Provide high-quality administrative and practice management service activities in the Collaborative Eye Care Clinic.
  • Support students within units and courses, working collaboratively to improve student support services and optimize student outcomes.
  • Develop effective assessment tasks and rubrics at unit level, providing clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Optometry, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in a university environment and business management experience.
  • A record of scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs.
  • Capacity and passion for leadership of teaching and administration.
  • Ability to work with partners at the University, government, external organizations, and professional bodies.
