Lecturer in Environmental Health is a key position at Flinders University.

About the Role

We are seeking an academic to contribute to high-quality teaching and research, with a focus on microbiology, toxicology or health risk assessment. The successful candidate will work alongside a passionate team in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, engaging with partners in government, industry, and the community to address real-world public and environmental health challenges.

Main Responsibilities
  • Developing and coordinating topics and curricula.
  • Supervising honours and HDR students.
  • Strengthening and expanding partnerships that enhance research and learning outcomes.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a PhD in Public and Environmental Health or a related field, with a growing record of excellence in teaching and research. You will also need to demonstrate experience in delivering high-quality, student-centred teaching in a tertiary environment, including topic coordination, curriculum design, and use of e-learning platforms.

Requirements
  • Accreditation (or willingness to gain it) from Environmental Health Australia.
  • Experience and successful track record in supervision of honours and higher degree students.
  • Capacity to contribute to leadership in curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.
