
Early Career Opportunities for Nurses and Midwives

This graduate program offers early career nurses the chance to develop professionally in various clinical areas, consolidate their knowledge and skills in a supportive workplace environment.
The program includes development of professional skills such as assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, working within scope of practice and according to evidence-based practice and legislation, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, participating in quality improvement initiatives and role modelling appropriate behaviour.
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must have current registration as a registered nurse or registered midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, demonstrated ability to co-ordinate client care resulting in positive clinical outcomes, strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and understanding of social and cultural challenges experienced by vulnerable groups/communities and the role of the nurse/midwife in supporting them.
Benefits of this program include the chance to work shift work, be redeployed to other clinical areas to meet clinical needs and participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles in a health care setting.

Key Skills and Qualifications:- Current registration as a registered nurse or registered midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
