The NT Health 2026 Graduate Registered Nurse/Midwife program offers early career nurses a chance to develop professionally in various clinical areas, consolidate their knowledge and skills in a supportive workplace environment.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
- Working within the registered nurse/midwife scope of practice and according to evidence-based practice and legislation.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and participation in quality improvement opportunities.
- Fostering a positive workplace culture through role modelling appropriate behaviour.
- Ensuring high-quality services and workplaces by following defined service quality standards and WHS policies and procedures.
- Ability to work shift work and be redeployed to other clinical areas to meet clinical needs.
Essential Requirements:
- Current registration as a registered nurse or registered midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to, co-ordinate client care resulting in positive clinical outcomes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for contributing to multidisciplinary team success.
- Understanding of social and cultural challenges experienced by vulnerable groups/communities and the role of the nurse/midwife in supporting them.
- Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles in a healthcare setting.
