Health Safety Specialist

We are seeking a Health and Safety Professional to join our team. As part of our growth strategy, this role will play a key part in ensuring compliance with Australian Safety Legislation.
The successful candidate will have expertise in creating a culture that prioritizes health and safety, as well as the skills to develop and implement frameworks and systems that support best practice.
The position involves working closely with senior management, branch managers, supervisors, and staff to provide essential health and safety services. This includes implementing and maintaining health and safety management systems, contributing to policy development, and providing advice on various health and safety issues.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with high analytical skills, able to work effectively in an environment where initiative and drive for improvement are valued.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain health and safety management system and online information systems.
- Contribute to policy and procedure development to ensure legislative compliance.
- Support all aspects of the injury management process.
- Coach and support staff to adhere to policy and procedures.
- Work with training and human resource advisors to coordinate onboarding and induction programs.
- Provide expert advice on diverse health and safety issues.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A relevant qualification in workplace health and safety or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional relationship development and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to produce reporting and create engaging educational content.
- Return to Work Coordinator training and experience, or the ability to undertake it.
