Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Operations & Maintenance team at a Defence facility in the Shoalhaven Region of NSW.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation.

Benefit from the opportunity to work with a long-term operations and maintenance contract, supporting various sites in the region with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout NSW.

Job Description

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment.

Additionally, you will diagnose and repair fuel related assets and equipment in a breakdown environment, and participate in project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment.

You will also provide support for subcontracted work packages as required.

  • Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of equipment.
  • Detect and diagnose faults or defects in fuel related assets and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain fuel related assets and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Participate in projects to upgrade and improve fuel installation assets and equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to colleagues and management.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Trade qualified (mechanical) with relevant post-trade experience.
  • Proven experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas.
  • Experience working within the defence fuels network or defence industry will be highly regarded.
  • Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded.
  • A strong commitment to safety and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Current possession or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance.
