Job Title: z/OS Expert

This role is responsible for providing operational and technical support for mainframe systems in a z15 environment.

The ideal candidate will have over a decade of experience in mainframe support, software migration, and maintenance, as well as the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert-level technical support for mainframe systems
  • Manage software maintenance and perform patching and upgrading using SMP/E
  • Perform operational monitoring, alerting, and tuning for system performance
  • Support application teams and management with mainframe expertise
  • Operate and monitor master console activities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of incident/problem tickets
  • Maintain and enhance middleware, scheduler, and batch processing systems
  • Ensure security compliance through RACF and Natural Security administration
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with technical teams and stakeholders

  • Middleware: MQ, Datastream, RPC, CORBA

  • Job Language: JCL
  • Security: RACF, Natural Security
  • Source Code Management: N20
  • Storage/Backup: Hitachi VPS5100, CA-1 (Tape Management)
Requirements:
  • Australian citizenship (Baseline Security Clearance recommended)
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in supporting mainframe environments, mainframe software migration and maintenance processes, automation scripting using SAS and REXX, z-platform and z/OS hardware and operating systems, application control in mainframe architecture, middleware, and tooling, and batch technology from a support perspective
