About the Role

This is a dynamic and creative role that offers the right candidate the opportunity to deliver a truly inspiring Montessori early learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide, support, and supervise staff, students, and volunteers in the room
  • Develop the Children's Program, reflecting Early Years Learning Framework guidelines
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff and children, with attention to children with anaphylaxis, allergies, asthma, etc.
  • Keep accurate records of accidents, incidents, injuries, illnesses, and medication
  • Liaise with families about daily happenings
  • Maintain observations and records of individual children's progress, particularly those identified through staff observation
Requirements
  • Cert III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent)
  • Experience working as a Room Leader in an early childhood setting
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including National Regulations, National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Strong understanding of the importance of family communications
  • Strong understanding of the Montessori Philosophy
  • Well-versed with Montessori learning materials, curriculum areas, and progression
  • Passionate about implementing Montessori early learning programs
  • Commitment to the holistic development of their class
