About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Collections team as a Senior Collections Team Lead. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supporting organisational goals by managing the collection function associated with direct customers and when requiring hardship support, maintaining, and fostering professional relationships with internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Provide training, coaching and guidance to team members to uplift engagement and capability, ensuring the team achieves specified targets.
  • Collections Management: Respond to customer enquiries relating to hardship and develop tailored solutions in accordance with Company Policy and statutory requirements.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Conduct statistical analysis and reports on Hardship bad debts, recovery rates, bankruptcies, and delinquencies.
  • Invoicing and Direct Debits: Manage the invoicing and direct debits processes, complete month end processing, regular and adhoc reporting, regular review of all ledgers with recommendations of any bad debt write-offs, including reconciliations.
  • Client Relationships: Establish strong professional relationships with the Client Relationship team to ensure there are clear communication lines, client expectations are managed, and discrepancies are managed in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Experience in managing and coaching a high performing team: Proven experience in team leadership and development.
  • Experience in an Accounting function, preferably Collections/Financial hardship experience: Relevant accounting experience, preferably in collections or financial hardship.
  • Excellent training and coaching skills: Ability to provide constructive feedback and handle difficult conversations effectively.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills in Excel, including reconciliation: Proficient in Excel, including advanced spreadsheets and reconciliation.
  • Effectively communicating both verbally and in writing: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong finance, commercial and business acumen: Understanding of finance, commerce, and business principles.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills: Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of relevant legislation and regulations: Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
