Job Description

The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Health Worker to join their special workforce team in the Emergency Department. The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference in emergency care and have strong communication and advocacy skills.

This is an identified Aboriginal position: applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Exemption is claimed under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal patients and families in the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focused on providing high-quality, culturally responsive care.
  • Support Aboriginal patients and families in a fast-paced, emergency care environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Certificate 3 in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a Certificate 3 in health qualification in an appropriate health-related field.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills.
  • A passion for supporting Aboriginal patients in a fast-paced, emergency care environment.
