Opal Fibre Packaging provides a full service offering in corrugated cardboard box packaging, from design and product testing through to supply chain integration.

The key focus of this role will be to:

  • Manage the engineering functions and teams across the site.
  • Play a key role in upholding safety and compliance standards on-site.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external parties (such as OEM's, contractors and suppliers).
  • Effectively plan and execute maintenance activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on breakdowns and instate preventative measures accordingly, to avoid reoccurrences.
  • Ensure accurate records and planning is maintained using systems on-site (such as: maintenance planned, contract management, storage of regulatory documents, overseeing the spare parts on-site and ordering spare parts).

For this role we would ideally like you to have:

  • An engineering degree and/or multiple years of experience in engineering management, maintenance planning & asset management (required)
  • Experience in leading trade qualified teams
  • Prior experience in overseeing preventative and reactive maintenance in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different circumstances
  • The ability to effectively prioritize
  • Experience in using maintenance scheduling systems (required), SAP experience would be highly regarded
