About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement professional to join our client, the City of Unley. As a Principal Procurement and Contracts Advisor, you will play a key role in leading the development of procurement and contract management strategies that drive business outcomes and optimise procurement outcomes.

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the City of Unley's business objectives.
  2. Provide leadership and support to the procurement team to ensure effective contract management and procurement practices.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify cost drivers and develop strategies to reduce costs and optimise supply outcomes.
  4. Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with statutory and common law obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the evaluation of high-value and/or high-risk tenders.
  • Develop and implement contract management plans, KPIs, and performance reviews to ensure effective contract management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to the procurement team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management, with a strong understanding of contract law principles.
  • Ability to collect, organise, and analyse data accurately and provide information for corporate decision-making.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and develop a team of procurement professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in procurement, finance, accounting, law, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies and contract management plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
