Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Transformation Leader for Banking Infrastructure to join our team at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the transformation of our banking infrastructure, driving innovation and excellence in service delivery. As a key member of our SRE team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale solutions, influencing senior stakeholders, and ensuring the highest standards of service outcomes for our customers.

You will be a technical leader, with expertise in partnering with senior stakeholders, leading a culture of data-driven reliability, monitoring, and automation aligned to SRE principles. You will also have deep experience in designing, developing, testing, and supporting applications and systems, as well as managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of large-scale solutions, leveraging software engineering principles and industry-wide methodologies.
  • Influence and engage senior stakeholders on modern best practices for improving reliability throughout the SDLC.
  • Ensure the highest standards of service outcomes for our customers, driving seamless execution of our award-winning banking apps.
  • Manage and scale distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in partnering with senior stakeholders and leading a culture of data-driven reliability, monitoring, and automation aligned to SRE principles.
  • Deep experience in designing, developing, testing, and supporting applications and systems.
  • Strong experience with modern software development practices using tools such as git for source control, and CI/CD tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy or similar.
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux internals, networking, containers, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience. Additionally, we provide:
