This role oversees the definition, documentation, and delivery of complex digital infrastructure projects aligning with established methodologies.
The primary objective is to provide fit-for-purpose, robust, and resilient digital infrastructure supporting health service delivery and patient care in digital hospitals. Specifically, it involves urgent ICT upgrades of communications rooms.
- Under the Program Director, lead a workforce consisting of employees, contractors, and service providers offering program and project services from design through operational readiness, commissioning, and handover.
- Promote and ensure the use of suitable project management techniques, methodologies, and tools to guarantee quality project outcomes are delivered.
- Ensure project outcomes by leading and mentoring project teams to develop a skilled, efficient, ethical, and multi-disciplinary workforce delivering excellent project results to customers.
- Provide high-level expert advice and strategic input into project deliverables ensuring they meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Government and Queensland Health policies, strategies, and architecture.
- Oversee the successful delivery of complex and high-risk ICT projects ensuring program outcomes are achieved and enterprise solutions are delivered aligned to customer needs.
- Ensure all related projects integrate with Queensland Health's strategic direction by providing high-level expert advice, influencing, working collaboratively with, and aligning to Whole of Government (WoG) IM/ICT initiatives, and state, national, and international health bodies.
- Manage projects according to best practice guidelines (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2) and Queensland Health's formal project management approach and methodologies to enable consistent and quality project outcomes.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders by undertaking high-level strategic negotiations, providing expert advice, and resolving complex risks and issues associated with the program or project.
- Monitor and report on project-related trends, capability development, and performance against project plans and budgets.
