The Australian Submarine Agency is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Director to play a key role in shaping the nuclear powered submarine program. This exciting opportunity is part of a major initiative that will transform Australia's economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
About the RoleThis critical position involves leading impactful programs that drive strategic outcomes, designing and implementing initiatives to enhance capability and deliver lasting impact, contributing to shaping a capable and future-ready technical workforce, driving continuous improvement through program oversight, and building professional networks. The successful candidate will have strong STEM expertise, experience leading cross-functional projects, flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, project management skills, collaborative mindset, strategic thinking and data analysis skills, stakeholder engagement skills, results-oriented approach, and exceptional communication skills tailored for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver pathways to build the Australian Submarine Agency's Nuclear Engineering, Science, and Technology workforce
- Lead technical upskilling activities by identifying and facilitating training to build future readiness
- Contribute to shaping a capable and future-ready technical workforce by using structured planning and proven measures to grow the specialist workforce required for the optimal pathway
- Drive continuous improvement through program oversight by delivering project outcomes and workforce solutions to build sustainable talent pipelines for a skilled sovereign workforce
- Build professional networks by developing and delivering STEM education and training pathways through partnerships with government, industry, and academia locally and internationally
