Compliance and Safety Specialist

This role involves implementing effective safety interface coordination, responding to regulatory enquiries, and reviewing the company's safety management system.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement improvements to current Safety Interface Agreements to ensure compliance with rail safety laws.
  • Maintain (and improve as required) the interface register for UGL operations.
  • Organise regular meetings between key stakeholders and interfacing parties to discuss safety issues.
  • Document meeting outcomes and provide them to the Investigation and Regulatory Liaison Manager.
  • Evaluate safety interface coordination issues and escalate them to senior managers as needed.
  • Conduct onsite risk assessments with interfacing parties and review existing Safety Interface Agreement Risk assessments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • An engineering, safety, business or equivalent tertiary qualification is preferred.
  • An understanding of rail safety laws and regulations as they apply to interface agreements.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite of programs.
