
Safety Interface Coordinator

This role involves implementing effective safety interface coordination, responding to regulatory and external safety body enquiries, and reviewing the safety management system.
- We are looking for someone to assist in enhancing current Safety Interface Agreements to ensure compliance with Rail Safety National Law and Rail Safety National Regulations.
- The ideal candidate will work towards ensuring unsigned interface agreements are executed.
- Maintaining and improving the interface register for UGL RL CRN operations is a key responsibility of this role.
- Ongoing meetings between key internal stakeholders and interfacing parties are required to discuss and resolve key safety and risk issues.
- Providing regular meeting outcomes to the Investigation and Regulatory Liaison Manager is necessary.
- Escalating any safety interface coordination issues as required is also an important task.
- Conducting onsite risk assessments and reviewing existing Safety Interface Agreement Risk assessments are additional responsibilities.
- Internal SMS Audits and preparing reports including identification of RNSL gaps, findings, outcomes & recommendations are also required.
- Contributing to the SMS Safety Interface Coordination documents is another key aspect of this role.
- Liaising with Emergency Control organisations and attending meetings to assist with planning and implementation of exercises to validate preparedness is essential.
- An Engineering, Safety, Business or other equivalent tertiary qualification is preferred.
- Experience and/or qualifications in Rail Safety, including understanding of Rail Safety National Law and RSNL National Regulations as they apply to Interface agreements, is required.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite of programs are necessary.
- Ideal experience in rail industry (or another safety critical industry) with a sound understanding of Rail Safety National Law and Rail Safety National Law National Regulations is desired.
