Senior Casualty Underwriting Manager

The Senior Casualty Underwriting Manager is responsible for overseeing the underwriting and management of a profitable book of casualty business within the Northern Region market. The primary focus is on ensuring compliance with Arch's written underwriting guidelines while achieving planned underwriting results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of underwriters to achieve allocated underwriting authority levels.
  • Achieve targeted underwriting results and identify requirements to meet the Region's business needs.
  • Ensure all business policies and procedures are followed by the team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Casualty Region Growth Strategy.
  • Oversee the distribution strategy for Casualty in the Region.
  • Provide regular reporting on the Region's casualty book.
  • Attend meetings with local and group managers as required.

People Management Responsibilities:

  • Communicate organizational goals to team members and set clear expectations.
  • Monitor employees' productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Oversee employees' performance, organize regular 1:1 meetings and conduct annual performance reviews.

Role Requirements & Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability and experience in people management.
  • Portfolio management expertise.
  • Ability to manage growth of the casualty portfolio.
