Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Property Lawyer to join our dynamic team at FCM Travel. This role can be tailored to suit either full-time or part-time arrangements, providing flexibility to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience Required: A minimum of 3-4 years of post-admission experience (PAE) in property law.
  • Specialization: Proficiency in commercial and retail leasing, with a preference for candidates with multi-jurisdictional experience.
  • Role Location: This is a national position based at our global headquarters in South Brisbane.
  • Compensation: We offer a competitive salary aligned with market standards.
About the Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing FCM Travel's extensive retail and commercial property portfolio across Australia. As the in-house solicitor for Property, you will report directly to the National Property General Manager and the Group General Counsel.

This position demands a high level of interaction with various internal stakeholders, including senior management, leasing executives, fitout project managers, and finance teams. You will also engage directly with landlords, their legal representatives, and other external partners such as property managers and agents.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating property transactions, alongside effective management of high-volume leasing activities.
  • Ability to resolve legal negotiations and disputes efficiently and commercially, ensuring legal risk is minimized while achieving favorable outcomes for internal clients.
  • Capability to maintain national lease precedents and foster strong relationships with shopping center landlords.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Relevant degree qualifications are essential.
