About the Role

  • As a workshop supervisor, you will oversee all operations in our Hume ACT facility. This includes supervising internal team members and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure smooth day-to-day activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

">
  • Lead your team with hands-on guidance and effective mentoring to promote a culture of excellence and safety.
  • Quickly diagnose and repair modern diesel trucks, forklifts, compactors, and plant equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Prioritize urgent breakdowns to minimize disruptions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance to ensure all machinery remains service-ready and compliant.
  • Manage procurement and inventory, raise purchase orders, order parts, track stock, and oversee administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of fleet logs, maintenance history, and compliance documentation.
  • Serve as the key liaison for suppliers, contractors, logistics, and operations teams.
  • Enforce safety and compliance protocols, including inductions, procedures, and contractor oversight.

Your Qualifications and Skills

">
  • Qualified diesel mechanic with an HR driver's license (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated experience with heavy vehicles and plant machinery.
  • Strong procurement and inventory management skills.
  • Competency with maintenance management systems and basic IT tools.
  • A calm and adaptable approach under pressure.
  • Proven leadership experience, managing both employees and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison abilities.
