Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Student Wellbeing and Engagement Officer to join our team at Fountain Gate Secondary College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive wellbeing services to students and families, including counselling, case management, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counselling and Support
    • Provide one-on-one counselling for short-term intervention to students with complex needs.
    • Conduct risk assessments on students in crisis and develop strategies for crisis management.
  • Case Management
    • Refer students and families to external mental health service providers and collaborate with them to ensure comprehensive support.
    • Develop and implement case management plans in collaboration with Year level leaders and other stakeholders.
    • Attend Student Support Group (SSG) meetings and case review meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination.
    • Record and review case notes to ensure accurate documentation and evaluation of services.
    • Communicate regularly with parents, teaching staff, and Year level Hub to ensure seamless support and coordination.
    • Provide daily reports to the Wellbeing team and Assistant Principal to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of services.
  • Professional Development and Support
    • Maintain awareness of current best practices in counselling, case management, and community engagement.
    • Participate in ongoing professional learning and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Support continuous improvement, evaluation, and evidence-based innovation in school programs.
  • College Community
    • Develop positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and the wider College community.
    • Participate in the culture and life of the College, including specific meetings of school committees as required.
    • Make contributions to the College newsletter, annual magazine, and other school publications as appropriate.
