The IT Service Desk Technician at St Andrews Christian College plays a vital role in maintaining the operation of the College’s classroom learning. This position involves providing technical support to students, teachers, and staff, ensuring IT-related issues are either resolved efficiently or escalated to a specialist technician promptly. This full-time position will commence in January 2026.

Main Responsibilities

- Responding to and resolving IT support requests from users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues

- Providing technical assistance for computer systems, printers, mobile devices, and other technology equipment

- Installing, configuring, and maintaining software applications and operating systems

- Assisting with user account management, password resets, and access control

- Contributing to the development of IT support documentation and knowledge base articles

- Participating in IT projects and initiatives as directed by the IT Manager or senior team members

- Delivering excellent customer service by ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and maintaining a positive user experience

- Collaborating with other IT staff to identify recurring problems and proactively implement solutions to improve overall system performance

- Conducting regular maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and security of IT systems

- Adhering to established policies, procedures, and best practices for IT service delivery

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of the college's technology infrastructure while providing valuable support to the educational mission of St Andrews Christian College.

IT Service Desk Technician - Position Description

Acceptance and adherence to the College’s Statement of Belief is an essential condition of employment.

Required Skills

- Strong technical knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Mac OS environments

- Effective communication and customer service skills

- Ability to work well in a team and independently

- Knowledge of help desk ticketing systems

- Basic understanding of networking principles

Required Experiences

- Prior experience in providing IT support or service desk assistance

- Experience in documenting IT issues and resolutions

- Working knowledge of Active Directory and user account management

- Experience in providing technical guidance to end-users
