The Employer: Our client is a private landholder of Australian agricultural assets with 16 properties across eastern Australia, covering over 60,000 hectares. The portfolio spans multiple climatic regions and production systems, producing prime lambs, wool, cattle, cereals and oilseeds, irrigated cotton, and sugar. The Role

This role provides leadership and direction across two properties east of Walcha, NSW, on the northern Tablelands edge. The properties currently run 1,400 Angus breeders plus followers across 2,400 hectares. As Farm Manager, you will ensure the operation is run sustainably and safely and meet production objectives. You will be dedicated to optimising the enterprise as a key driver for productivity and profit, using a hands-on work ethic.

You will work within the senior management guidelines to provide leadership and operational support to achieve commercial outcomes through effective management. This includes working with the area manager, advisors, contractors, and staff, overseeing day-to-day operations of the livestock and pasture enterprises while operating within budgets and QA and WH&S policies. You will be responsible for driving the property's success and working towards strategic goals.

We seek someone with a passion for the agricultural industry, a track record of operational farm management, and a strong focus on safety and mixed livestock systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Requirements

- A minimum of 5 years working within the industry (or similar), with at least 3 years in a livestock management role.

- Corporate farming experience is advantageous

- Deliver high-quality, results-oriented farm and livestock management.

- Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to employees with positive results.

- Strong leadership capabilities

Your Responsibilities

- Recruit, lead and maintain a team of farm staff, demonstrating hands-on leadership.

- Diligent future planning, budgeting, and cost control with full accountability.

- Work with the management team to develop the enterprise's goals, plans, and budgets.

- Overseeing implementation of enterprise goals, plans, and budgets.

- Work closely with the area manager and external consultants on agronomy, inputs, and livestock marketing.

- Thorough and transparent reporting of outcomes.

- Make decisions that ensure the best use of resources for a profitable and sustainable future.

- Leadership of Workplace, Health, and Safety for the farm

Located 30 km east of Walcha, 110 km east of Tamworth and 200 km to the coast at Port Macquarie, the area has a large range of amenities including schools and supplies a short drive away.
