About the role
The Haven Foundation, a subsidiary of Mind, provides sustainable social housing and support solutions for people with complex mental ill health and enduring psychosocial disability. Support services within the Haven residences are provided by Mind Australia (Parent Company) and funded through the NDIS with an emphasis on building skills to live independently with a focus on mental health recovery.
We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced Housing and Tenancy Officer for a permanent, full time opportunity with a central office located in the Burnley area. You will be responsible for undertaking administrative functions, supporting a portfolio of clients and maintaining tenancies for The Haven Foundation’s tenancy management service in Victoria.
Key responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end tenancy management services and coordinate a portfolio of renters and properties within a geographical group across Victoria.
- Managing enquiries from current renters, prospective applicants and stakeholders.
- Work with renters to manage and facilitate resolution of disputes, complaints, conflict or antisocial behaviour in line with THFs policies and procedures.
- Provide relevant information and correspondence to renters, applicants and partner agencies as required.
- Collaborate with mental health services across Mind to ensure renters receive a high-quality integrated housing and support service.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Community Services, Real Estate or Housing, Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind and/or equivalent Property Management experience in a similar industry.
- Demonstrated experience in tenancy management and property management of social housing (public/community housing).
- Proven experience and understanding of Not for Profit, Community Services, Mental Health, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors is required.
- Practical knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (Vic) 1997 and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
