CatholicCare Victoria Housing (CCVH) is a registered housing provider and subsidiary of CatholicCare Victoria, currently delivering one of the state's most ambitious growth pipelines in social and affordable housing—nearly 500 new homes across Victoria.
We're seeking a Tenancy Officer / Administrator to join our growing team in Ballarat.
This role offers variety and purpose — balancing administrative precision with people-focused tenancy management. From ensuring responsive maintenance and smooth property handovers to building supportive tenant relationships, this is an opportunity to make a difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality tenancy and property management services across CCVH's housing portfolio.
- Respond promptly to tenant requests, maintenance needs and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain accurate tenant and property records, documentation, and communications.
- Coordinate property inspections, condition reports, lease agreements, and rent payments.
- Liaise with maintenance providers and contractors to ensure properties remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
- Support the Team Leader with tenancy administration, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Assist with onboarding new tenants and ensuring smooth transitions between tenancies.
- Monitor compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 and CCVH policies.
- Contribute to planned maintenance schedules, budgets and asset management systems.
- Provide backfill support to the Tenancy Team Leader when required.
About You
- Experience in tenancy management, real estate, property administration, or community housing, or strong general administration experience.
- Understanding of (or willingness to learn) the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Confident communicator with empathy, professionalism and a solutions-focused mindset.
- Comfortable balancing administrative tasks with direct tenant engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a supportive team.
- Commitment to the values of respect, inclusion, and housing justice.
Other Requirements
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current Working with Children Check (Victoria)
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Right to work in Australia
- Willingness to complete regular compliance checks as required
