Position Information

Epping Boys High School is a proudly comprehensive high school for boys with an enrolment of over 1400. A Middle School and Senior School structure recognises and enhances the learning and wellbeing needs of all students and is complemented by the Boys to Men Program which engages boys in learning, promotes wellbeing and builds young men who are connected to their community. The School Improvement Plan values data driven practice and strong collaboration to further the vision for the school with intrinsic links between wellbeing and learning underpinning the educational purpose at Epping Boys High School. Epping Boys High School has a long tradition of academic and sporting excellence and enjoys a high profile in music and the creative and performing arts. Specific Selection Criteria

- Proven ability to lead and work effectively with both teaching and SASS staff to build professional capacity, mentor colleagues across career stages, and foster a cohesive culture of high expectations and excellence in teaching and learning.

- Expertise in leading the implementation, evaluation and improvement of curriculum and assessment to improve the educational outcomes for a wide range of Stage 6 TAS courses, with an understanding of VET frameworks and pathways to support curriculum diversity, student engagement, and post-school opportunities.

- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with the school leadership team to drive school improvement through the school’s Strategic Excellence Plan.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policy.
