Position Information

Bankstown Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school established in 1960, located in Sydney's Southwest. Our student population of 570 girls reflects a diverse range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Notably, 98% of our students come from non-English speaking backgrounds, and 30% require varying levels of support in English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D). We cater for students at all achievement levels including high potential and gifted students. Specific Selection Criteria

1. Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.

2. Demonstrated ability to lead the development and delivery of engaging and inclusive TAS programs that foster creativity, problem-solving, and future-focused learning, particularly encouraging girls’ participation in STEM and technology-based subjects.

3. Demonstrated excellence in communication, along with strong organisational and management capabilities to successfully manage resources and systems in a diverse TAS and CAPA faculty.

4. Demonstrated ability to build staff capacity and foster a culture of high expectations, while being a collaborative and visible leader who works effectively with the executive to implement whole school priorities.

5. Demonstrated ability to enhance student agency and opportunities through purposeful engagement with parents, carers, and other stakeholders.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department/'s Aboriginal education policy
