The Role

Plan, coordinate and deliver high quality Physiotherapy care to patients/clients of the Prince of Wales Hospital consistent with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

Where You'll be Working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria

- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award, Physiotherapy Board of Australia and AHPRA.

- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy.

- Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills, and an understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment.

- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders including education providers.

- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature.

- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.

- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning

- Current drivers licence and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
