Bupa Sutherland is a modern care home located in the heart of the Sutherland Shire, 40 minutes south of Sydney, and is close to local shops, parklands and transport links. It consists of 144 beds, with a variety of care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents. What you’ll do as a Lifestyle and Wellbeing Carer (Wellbeing Carer)
- Be the fun facilitator: Help residents explore their interests, both within the care home and beyond. From art classes and gardening clubs to day trips and movie nights, ensure there’s something for everyone.
- Social butterfly extraordinaire: Be the friendly face who connects residents and fosters a sense of belonging.
- More than just activities: Be a supportive companion, assisting with daily living like mealtimes and outings, and offering emotional support to those with cognitive impairment or mental health needs.
- Resident champion: Gather feedback through surveys and family conferences to ensure activities truly hit the mark.
- Team player: Collaborate with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities, document progress, and escalate any concerns.
- Hygiene and safety: Follow infection control protocols and maintain a tidy environment.
- Catering assistance: Lend a hand with plating and serving meals, adhering to food safety standards and monitoring resident preferences.
What we’re looking for:
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain one)
- Australian driver’s licence desirable
- Your passion for enriching lives is the most important qualification
- Can-do spirit: You’re flexible, adaptable, and always up for a challenge.
- Creative spark: You’re brimming with ideas to make every day an adventure.
- Excellent communication: You connect easily with residents and colleagues, building trust and rapport.
- Team player: You collaborate effectively and support others with a smile.
- Previous experience in caring for elders within an aged care or community setting is essential.
