The role

Our Impact Programs team is expanding the Family Concierge Program and are looking for passionate and empathetic Family Concierge Coordinator. This role is a fixed term 12 month contract, full time hours, and is based at Queensland Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane.

The Family Concierge Coordinator is primarily based in hospital wards and is responsible for welcoming admitted patients and their families to their hospital ward, connecting families with Children’s Hospital Foundation programs and providing essential hospital information that supports their healthcare experience. The aim of the role is to offer practical help that has a positive impact on their hospital journey.

This role also supports the wider Impact Programs team with the delivery of a suite of patient and family support programs. Additionally, it assists in identifying families who are willing to share their stories with the Foundation to assist our fundraising, marketing, and brand awareness strategies.

- You have well-developed oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail

- A warm and engaging person with a high level of emotional IQ, able to read a room and confidently interact with persons from all walks of life

- Possess a level of comfort to recognise and hold space for the emotive environment of a tertiary healthcare facility

- Action orientated and full of energy for things you see as challenging, not fearful of trying new things and enjoy responding to a fast-paced environment to complete tasks on time

- A strategic thinker who uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions that stretch beyond the obvious

- Embrace change and value a collective team approach to innovation and iterative learning

- Possess the ability to work independently and effectively with others as a flexible and fair team player, and can quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all

- Have a hunger to make a difference, guided by an understanding and commitment to our vision and purpose

- Possess strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office suite programs, document control and the use of web-based platforms and social media, and comprehensive data entry experience using CRM databases

Key criteria

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

- Tertiary qualifications in a role-related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education are essential

- 2 years’ experience delivering programs and services in the healthcare or family service community

- Demonstrated experience working with children, young people and families in a vulnerable state

- A proven track record of developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders

- Experience in providing support or assistance to children and caregivers

- Excellent customer service and people skills with a strong ability to converse with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds in an empathetic and sensitive style
