The primary responsibility of the Brand Manager is to develop and implement marketing plans in line with brand strategy in order to achieve strategic and financial objectives. The Brand Manager is also responsible for working with the broader marketing and sales team to ensure effective implementation of plans.
The Brand Manager sits within the Animal Health Marketing organisation and reports to the Marketing Lead ANZ, Companion Animals.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
- Achievement of sales targets within promotional budgets.
- Translate global brand strategies into local marketing plans.
- Develop, implement and deliver long‑ and short‑term brand strategies in line with brand life cycle requirements.
- Use research‑driven customer insight to form effective strategies, tracking results of campaigns.
- Determine the best promotional communications plan to differentiate products in the marketplace.
- Liaise with advertising agencies and other marketing consultancies on ongoing programmes, new programmes and market research, measuring the cost‑effectiveness and success of each programme.
- Drive execution of the brand strategy through effective implementation of tactics.
- Update marketing plans as required, communicating any changes to relevant parties.
- Develop methods for field testing programmes, evaluate the effectiveness of promotion and advertising programmes and make recommendations for improvements or changes as necessary.
- Leverage technology to achieve optimal customer contact and champion new methods of customer interaction, including non‑traditional marketing methods.
- Actively seek relationships to further the brand, e.g. our company’s Animal Health Australia, global brand teams.
- Act as a brand expert and be available to customer‑facing roles.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor activity, including product ranges, pricing, promotions and changes to distribution.
- Analyse competitor intelligence and incorporate learnings into the development of brand strategy and tactics.
- Keep abreast of current industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Identify potential opportunities for new product development and impact on existing products.
- Develop a network of marketing resources for future campaign activities.
- Work closely with the technical and sales teams on the development of campaigns and customer programmes.
- Communicate regularly with the sales team to implement brand strategy and tactical plans, developing sales tools and training when necessary.
- Maintain contact with distribution centres and key account customers to follow up promotion efforts and stay informed on the needs of the sales force.
- Ensure all business activity complies with relevant Acts, legal requirements and ethical standards.
What You Must have
- Marketing degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in a business‑related discipline
- Prior experience in product/brand management
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong numerical and financial management skills
- Self‑starter with initiative; works well with minimal supervision
- Business‑focused skills: multi‑tasking, prioritisation, goal setting and decision‑making
- Data analysis and logical problem‑solving capability
- Ability to evaluate and report key metrics and campaign performance
- Efficient, deadline‑driven working style
- Project management skills to initiate and complete multiple projects
- Able to collaborate cross‑functionally in a team setting, demonstrating our company’s leadership competencies
