Ongoing growth has now led to a need for an Assistant Financial Accountant/Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.

Role Overview

This role emphasises a focus on systems and technology, including AI, to help roll out the ongoing digitisation of the finance function, while still helping with other routine accounting tasks across the Finance team.

The role will include completing month end accounting, bank reconciliations, financial statements preparation, and assisting the Finance team with operational finance.

Key Accountabilities

- Assist Finance team with identifying, analysing and implementing technology solutions
- Help to automate and digitise the Finance function
- Perform bank reconciliations for multiple entities across the Group
- Investigate variances between bank transactions and system generated reports
- Prepare month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations for specified entities within the Group
- Assist Finance team with accounting reconciliations
- Assist Finance team with regulatory compliance reporting (GST/BAS, APRA and ABS)
- Assist Finance team with completing Audit information requests

About You

- 1-2 years of experience in a technology driven finance role
- Reliable and deadline focused
- Hands-on team player
- Tertiary qualifications in one or more of economics, business, accounting, finance or a STEM subject
- Bring skills and experience to support the business in a time of significant growth
- Problem solver, able to learn quickly and hit the ground running
- This role is suitable for someone with high potential with an interest in AI and technology solutions and an understanding of how a finance function operates.
