The APS6 Platform Engineer role requires a minimum of 3 days in the office per week, with flexible arrangements for the remaining 2 days, and a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. Security clearance is also required, with the ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1.

Key Responsibilities

The APS6 Platform Engineer will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems, and coordinate and assist in strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.

Key Duties

- Oversee a squad of AWS Platform Engineers, identifying learning opportunities, delegating tasks, and providing mentoring to junior staff.
- Lead the design, build, and maintenance of AWS infrastructure solutions to support scalable and reliable applications and services.
- Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate deployment processes and ensure efficient delivery.
- Monitor and troubleshoot AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Develop solutions that enforce security best practices, such as Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Australian Signal Directorate (ASD) Blueprints, and Information Security Controls (ISM) Controls, to protect cloud environments and sensitive data.
- Automate the provisioning and management of AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Git for version control.

Selection Criteria

1. Experience in implementing AWS solutions.
2. Demonstrated experience in leading teams or fulfilling technical lead roles.
3. Experience in implementing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, Vault (formerly Hashicorp), and Git repositories (GitLab, GitHub).
4. Note: Experience in implementing Azure solutions is also mentioned, but it seems to be an error in the original text, as the role focuses on AWS solutions.
