About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager - Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all geological, mine engineering, mine surveying, mine planning, and open pit mining operations at the Greenbushes Lithium Operation. This role ensures alignment with the overall mine plan and processing requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, sustainability, cost‑effectiveness, and environmental responsibility across all mining activities.

Responsibilities include:

- lead and manage open pit planning across mining, geology, geotechnical, and site infrastructure projects, ensuring adequate resourcing and integration of all disciplines;

- oversee updates to the ore body model and facilitate strategic mine planning;

- coordinate annual mine production plans, operating budgets, capital forecasts, and workforce planning;

- approve annual Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve (MROR) statements;

- manage mining and geology contracts, including tenders, negotiations, performance reviews, and variations;

- oversee crusher feed, ROM areas, rehabilitation, and general earthworks;

- manage and develop technical staff to meet operational needs;

- review geotechnical and geological requirements for open pit operations;

- ensure compliance with mining and environmental regulations, licenses, and permits;

- review and update management plans, including slope stability and contractor performance;

- monitor mine production performance against targets, budgets, forecasts and oversee contract management systems;

- review geological reconciliations and monthly mining forecasts;

- ensure maintenance of mining facilities and consolidate monthly production reports; and

- drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.

About the Candidate:

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mining) or Geology;

- minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience in an Open Pit environment with time in a mining management role;

- proven experience managing all aspects of mining operations, including safety, environment, contracts, and technical performance;

- strong leadership, communication, and people management skills;

- sound knowledge of mine safety regulations and environmental systems;

- skilled in emergency response planning and incident investigation;

- proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis; and

- strategic understanding of mine economics and overall business performance factors.
