This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension

Thornlie SHS is seeking a dedicated and innovative teacher to join our Design and Technology Learning Area, in the context of Business.

The successful applicant will ideally hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) and ideally have the capacity to deliver Certificate II in Workplace Skills as well as experience teaching Business Management and Enterprise Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and Applied Information Technology.

The successful applicant should be a highly organised educator with strong written and verbal communication skills, who can ideally develop and deliver engaging programs that are differentiated, challenging, caring and creative. The ideal applicant should display a commitment to catering for the diverse needs of all students to ensure every learner can progress and achieve success.

The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning programs that align with the Thornlie SHS Business Plan. You should contribute to a positive school culture by maintaining safe and supportive learning environments and by providing opportunities that enable students to reach their full potential. With well-developed interpersonal skills, the successful applicant would build strong partnerships with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider community to enhance educational outcomes.

The successful applicant will ideallydisplay a passion for student engagement and the ability to inspire learners to achieve their personal best. You would work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, supporting the initiatives and programs within the Design and Technology Learning Area.
