Rockingham Senior High School Education Support Centre (SHS ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

We currently have the following positions available, commencing Term 1, 2026:

  • 1 x 12-month fixed term, full-time position (Teacher - Education Support)
  • 1 x permanent part time (0.4FTE) position (Teacher - Education Support - Arts)

Note:
This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. The Role
Education Support Teachers will assist in the provision of specialised education support programs and classes, tailored to the needs of small groups of students. The suitable applicants will be encouraged to implement whole school pedagogical practices and behaviour curriculum. This will enhance differentiated teaching in structured learning environments in which the required instructional, curriculum and environmental adjustments support all students to achieve to their potential.

Suitable applicants will ideally be motivated, compassionate, flexible, highly organised, and possess a deep knowledge of pedagogy specific to students with disability. Highly developed classroom management skills are highly regarded, as to create the safe and caring environments needed for optimal learning to take place, as is the use of collaborative planning to support targeted and sustainable behaviour interventions. Suitable applicants should have proficiency in the use of assessment to identify ability, interests, progress, and areas for development as well as the ability to develop plans / programs aligned with identified individualised student outcomes. Suitable applicants should possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrate leadership within the classroom and wider community.

In addition to the core Education Support role, this pool process will be used to consider options classes for students. This may include art, music, drama, home economics, design & technology, bush rangers, media studies and / or business enterprise classes. Suitable applicants should create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that nurtures emotional, social, and cognitive development that builds on our students' unique interests and strengths. As a passionate teacher, you will lead these engaging activities that enhance learning and foster communication, self-expression, and confidence while helping students develop the skills necessary for their future independence and success.
